Seventy Eight is a Bitcoin Ordinal collection of 78 digital collectibles known as 'Blockies'
These tiny but colourful creations are made up of various, individual components - backgrounds, expressions, accessories - that are stitched together into a composite image through a process called Recursion and stored immutably on the Bitcoin blockchain using Ordinal Theory.
In layman's terms, every Blockie is made up of different parts and rendered on-chain to produce the characters you see here. This process is incredibly efficient from a storage perspective with each complete image being less than 115 bytes of data.
This data is then inscribed onto individual satoshis or "sats" (the smallest denomination of a Bitcoin) and becomes forever stored on the blockchain beyond the reach of decay. As the name might suggest, Blockies are stored on vintage 'Block 78' sats which were mined by BTC legend Hal Finney - more information about this inspiration can be found here.
Blockies are not a financial investment. They carry no intrinsic value other than the sat value itself. The project has no roadmap and seeks only to educate and share our passion for ordinals with our holders.
